I've never heard of Mir, is it new? Can I buy it from a shop?
Mir launched in 2002 and we rebranded the range - new packaging and website - between February and June 2008. So no, we're not new but we're a small exclusive brand and can't really compete with the marketing budgets of the huge, multi-national companies. Mir is only available from our website but this may change in due course.
Which Trial Pack should I order? Not sure of my (or my friend's) skin type...
In these cases we always recommend Trial Pack B, the one with all 6 items. Many of our customers who think they have dry skin find it less so after using our cleansers for a few weeks and can move over to Moisturising Lotion instead of Skin Silk. Those who are normal/oily and use Moisturising Lotion to start with tend to use Skin Silk as an eye cream. Purchasing all six products makes it simpler particularly if you’re purchasing a set as a gift and don’t know the recipient’s skin type. If you have dry to very dry skin then give Trial Pack A a go.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
No, but we offer reasonably priced Mir trial packs.
I haven't used Mir before, what should I start with? Order a trial pack which will last three to seven days. International customers may prefer to order a full size Cleansing Gel and trial pack as this will last longer and tide you over until you place your next order.
Can you send me samples?
Yes of course, see above - but you'll need to order them. We're a small company and it's unfeasible to offer free samples so please don't write and ask for them.
Is Mir only suitable for sensitive skin? What sort of person is the typical Mir customer?
Mir was specially formulated for sensitive skin but it is equally beneficial to non-sensitive complexions. Many of our customers are simply people who enjoy using light, water-based, refreshing products, care about what they use on their faces and want the best for their skin. Mir customers tend to be well-read, informed, intelligent professional women and men of all ages who are disillusioned with all the hype and anti-ageing nonsense around at the moment. The majority of our customers come to us after using natural and organic products and finding they are simply too irritating or that the oil-based formulations lead to congested skin and blemishes.
I work long hours and don't have time for a complicated skin care routine.
So do we. Nobody should have to spend more than five minutes a day on their skin. Mir will take you no more than a minute or two to use, morning and evening. We know that when a skin care routine takes longer than that, people are inclined to give it a miss which results in unhealthy skin.
What should I use as an eye cream?
Skin Silk Lotion is perfect, it’s a moisturiser and eye cream in one!
Is Mir suitable for men?
Yes, it was designed to be suitable for men too and we have many male customers worldwide. Additionally the packaging is unisex and all products are unscented.
What is the shelf life of Mir products?
Our two moisturisers and Argan Beauty Oil should be used within 12 months of opening; the rest, 18 months. The open jar symbol now appears on all products.
Should I use a face mask, can you recommend one?
Most cosmetics contain so many pore-clogging substances and irritants that you may well feel your skin needs something extra to remove these nasty substances from it. Mir contains only beneficial ingredients so you don't need to use a mask. However, you can leave the Cleansing Gel or Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser on your skin for a few minutes and this will act as a soothing, cleansing mask. Many of our customers swear by it! You can easily make natural masks yourself, we sometimes send out recipes in our newsletters to those on our mailing list - so join now! (See Contact page.)
Can I get rid of my cellulite with a cream?
No. If anti-cellulite creams worked then we would all know about it and we'd probably all be using them. In any case, if a product has an effect on the physiology of the body then it cannot legally be classed as a cosmetic and requires medicinal licensing.
